Peter de Wesselow is the Franchise Owner of InXpress Tyne & Wear. Here he tells us a bit about him and what led him to buy an InXpress Franchise, why finding the right team was his priority when he started out, and which celebrity chef he has cooked for!
"My career background was in advertising and marketing agencies in London, so the move to Logistics was a big change from selling creative ideas to the likes of Coca-Cola and Sainsbury.
When I moved to the North East of England, I was looking for a franchise with a proven business model that still gave me the freedom to build my own business. InXpress fitted the bill perfectly. Finding the right team was always my priority as I have always lived and breathed the importance of customer service, even in the supposedly ‘commoditised’ world of logistics.
Peter Johnson has been with me since the start, Paul James (with ‘superloads’ of carrier experience) joined when I purchased a second franchise. The final piece of the jigsaw is Angela Hanvey, recruited in Summer 2018 from the customer services department of UK Mail, Newcastle.
In my spare time, I love all sports (even watching Newcastle United!) and cooking programmes on TV. I once mashed potatoes for the renowned French chef Raymond Blanc…and he even came back for seconds."
