20th Anniversary Case Study: Va Ba

26th February 2020

One of the youngest franchisees in the InXpress network globally, is Vu Ba Viet, 26 years old, who owns a franchise in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Owning an InXpress franchise has changed Vu Ba’s life and here he tells us more about it.

“I studied International Economics at University and decided to go into franchising after my studies because it offers a proven system and therefore the opportunity to be a successful business owner - even without any previous management experience.

I chose an InXpress franchise because of the global coverage and partnership with the largest courier in the world – DHL Express. I had previously worked for the first InXpress franchisee in Vietnam as a salesman, so I also understood and believed in the model.

I now employ three people – two salespeople and a customer service representative. Although it took around two years to break-even, the business is now doing very well. In the last three months, my average gross margin has been 8,000 USD which is amazing especially when the average monthly salary in Vietnam is 700 USD.

Owning my own business means that I have more free time and money for myself and my family. I have bought my apartment in Hochiminh City which I believe it is not affordable for most of young people like me in Vietnam. My goal for the future is simple – to keep growing the business!”
