Craig Atkins Crosses the Finish Line

3rd April 2017

Craig Atkins, franchise owner of InXpress Reading,  completed the Manchester Marathon on Sunday 2nd April! Six months of intensive training in all weathers, and aching leg muscles has paid off which an impressive time of 4 hours, 12 minutes, which is a fantastic achievement! Six months of dedicated hard-training has meant he has successfully raised £1000 for InXpress’ chosen charity EYESeeMe! Go Craig!

EYESeeMe is a charity set up and run by one of InXpress’ franchisees, Rebecca Robyns from InXpress Hull. EYESeeMe works with orphaned and impoverished children, many of whom lost their parents in the Tsunami, in South East Asia, helping them develop new skills for life, in a safe and therapeutic environment. InXpress and EYESeeMe have already raised enough funds to support 71 children through full time education, right up to when they graduate So this effort from Craig over the weekend, will offer a few more children the opportunity to a new life, with our help.

“I am feeling very sore today but it was all worth it – what a fantastic experience! The atmosphere at the race was awesome and the comradeship between runners is second to none. I kept thinking about all the people who had sponsored me which kept me going to the finish line, and I’ve decided to send my medal to the EYESeeMe Project. I can’t wait to see some wonderful smiley pictures of the orphans wearing it!

InXpress are proud to support a franchisee’s charity, and have been overwhelmed to see many other franchisees within our network coming together to support the cause, in such an enthusiastic – and often fun – way.

“Since we announced that EYESeeMe was to be our chosen charity this year, we’ve had so many franchisees supporting various challenges to donate money to such a great cause. We were so impressed with Craig’s dedication to the marathon – even training over Christmas and New Year and in the worst weather! He’s worked hard to achieve the time he has, and we’re so proud of him. We’d also like to thank him for the money he’s raised, it will be a life-line to many children, by giving them access to life-changing education!” adds Melanie Spencer, Global Head of Marketing at InXpress.
