At InXpress, ‘giving back’ is ingrained in who we are. Every single franchisee understands the importance of making a difference and going the ‘extra mile’ to help someone in need.
Our franchise is obviously well-known for delivering world-class shipping solutions, but we believe in the power of giving back to the communities who support us just as much. In September, we celebrated International Day of Charity, by reflecting on the incredible franchisee-led charitable efforts. We have so many dedicated individuals who’ve made it their mission to leave a positive impact on the world, supporting various charities and projects which resonate with their personal values and community needs.
InXpress is a global franchise, and we like to check in on our franchisees from the USA, Canada, South Africa and beyond from time to time to see how they’ve embraced the spirit of charity. There is such a variety of causes to get involved in! Here are just a few examples of the charitable work our franchisees are proud to support:
Gift of the Givers Project – InXpress South Africa
InXpress South Africa has been working hard to leave a legacy of caring for its customers and giving back to its communities. One of their key initiatives was partnering with the Gift of the Givers project, to provide much-needed relief during the unrest of July 2021. Due to political reasons, widespread public violence, looting, and property damage occurred in KwaZulu-Natal, affecting businesses and communities on a large scale.
So, InXpress South Africa took action: donating food, sanitary products, and baby products. These were distributed by Gift of the Givers to families most in need. This partnership is still providing relief to those who continue to be affected by the unrest, ensuring essential items reach communities who are still struggling.

InXpress Gives Back: Providing a lifesaving defibrillator for Abney Park
A bit closer to home, in Manchester, one of our UK franchisees, Mike Toal, is an avid runner who regularly participates in The Abney Park Trail Race – a monthly social running event. The event is organised by Gary Thomas and St. Cuthbert's Church, Cheadle.
After attending a First Aid course run by the church, Mike recognised there was a need for a defibrillator, as the area is frequently visited by scouts and guide groups, runners, dog walkers (including Ellie, the PAT dog who enjoys daily walks from the InXpress office), a forest school, and the local community. Having life-saving equipment readily available would be incredibly beneficial to the community. So, seeing the need, Mike and fellow franchisee, Glenn Willis, took swift action and ordered a defibrillator for the park. Now the community has a safe space and can act should the need arise!
Turning pennies into life-changing opportunities: The Penny Per Shipment Campaign
At our core, InXpress is a business built on big hearts – which we often wear on our sleeves. Our franchisees are as passionate about making a difference as they are about their businesses. Every November, we’re “all in” about raising money through our Penny Per Shipment campaign. For the past seven years, we’ve run this initiative, where 1p for every shipment booked is donated to charity. Last year we raised an impressive £9,638.40. These funds have been instrumental in supporting a variety of impactful projects:
- Providing football kits: Supplying football kits to children in Ghana, thanks to InXpress Coventry.
- Sponsoring franchisees’ charitable endeavours: Like Mitesh Kothari who is climbing Kilimanjaro at the end of September, to raise funds for St. Luke's Hospice in Harrow.
- Donating to British Humanitarian Aid: in particular, used domestic goods, clothes, toys and school stationery, for young children and families in Ukraine.
“The Penny Per Shipment campaign is an important part of our calendar,” explains Melanie Martin, InXpress’s Global Head of Marketing. “We love finding ways to make a genuine difference to the lives of people we know, as well as those in other countries. The money we raise each November gives InXpress the platform to turn our pennies into action.”
For many InXpress franchisees, the motivation to give back is deeply personal and charity work is a core part of their identity as business owners. To us, giving back is about creating a more compassionate world.
